bluespirit: (Supernatural ~ J2 Jared on Jen's shoulde)
Snagged from [personal profile] sgamadison :

This is an utterly fabulous song from a new, unsigned, gay country artist - Steve Grand. Who is also very easy on the eye. /shallowness

I just love this song & adore the vid - it's just like fanfic... except we'd give it a happy ending. Someone needs to write a fixit for this! LOL

I can completely see this as a J-squared story. Pining!Jensen finally acting on his feelings for oblivious!Jared. Jared's confused & pushes him away & Jen is heartbroken - cue major angst - but then when he goes back to the bonfire, Jared comes over, just smiles softly & kisses him! ♥♥♥♥♥
*flails with happiness*

You can download the song for free here - or donate something. I donated cus I'd love to hear more from this guy. What a talent.

ETA:
The object of his affections kind of reminds me of Scott Caan... yeah, I'm seeing this as a young!Steve&Danny in high school story, too.  :)

bluespirit: (SGA John dress blues)
I'm hosting a tea party, 'Paws for Tea', in a few weeks in aid of The Blue Cross animal charity.
I've got some cookie cutters (including one that's dog shaped - naturally! *g*) but the only problem is - I don't have a recipe to use to make cookies that I can cut out! LOL
Does anyone have a rec please? :)

And in super exciting news - the fabulously talented & just all around fabulous [personal profile] sgamadison  has released her latest novel!

The Boys of Summer

(Just click on the link for all the info.)

I've just bought my copy & am so looking forward to settling down for a nice, long read!

bluespirit: (Supernatural ~ Dean/Sam Xmas tree)
I have a teeny, tiny ficlet to share.  I know - shocking! LOL
I actually wrote it as a bit of fun to include with my virtual holiday gifts this year, & the lovely tarlanx suggested that I share it with everyone else.  So, here it is. :)

You've got mail
McShep, G, fluff

Speaking of fic - my sweet [livejournal.com profile] xanthe has posted the most lovely & fun holiday fic.  It's called 'Silent Night' & is set in her 24/7 universe.  It's a mulitfandom story & there are lots of old friends to catch up with at Christmas! \o/

We'll be starting our annual holiday rewatch of the LotR Trilogy (extended editions, of course *g*) with Fellowship this evening.  I can't wait! Woo-hoo!

I hope that whatever holiday you celebrate (even if it's just 'it's Tuesday!' *g*) that everyone has a wonderful festive season.
*big hugs*

Happy Holidays, folks!

bluespirit: (Supernatural ~ Dean reads)
I treated myself to 'The Essential Supernatural: On the Road with Sam and Dean Winchester' coffee table book & oh my goodness - it's fabulous!
It's a lovely large size hardback & is filled with gorgeous glossy pics (as well as fun little add-in stuff like postcards & stickers - & even an air freshner for the Impala! *g*)
I'm still working my way through it, but I can really rec it.  It's just a lovely thing to have - a real kind of 'event' book, if you know what I mean.

If you do fancy getting it & are in the UK, then I got mine from WH Smith online - it was only £19.19 (with free delivery) as opposed to £25 at Amazon.  The rrp is £29.99 so that's a pretty epic saving.

Speaking of lovely books to indulge in... [personal profile] xanthe  has just released 'Ricochet' in paperback form!  So, if (like me) you love to hold a real book in your hands - then why not treat yourself.  Or a friend?  It's nearly that time of year... :)

We're off to see The Hobbit this evening.
Can. Not. Wait!!!!
*dances*

bluespirit: (Supernatural ~ Dean reads)
Oooh, [livejournal.com profile] xanthe has posted the first 14 chapters (that's over 34,000 words, people!) of 'Ricochet' online so that you can 'try before you buy'.
So, if my rec isn't enough *g* - then have a little (huge!) taste of this awesome novel & see for yourself!

*points to icon*
Look - Dean can't put it down! *g*
bluespirit: (SGA omg!Joe)
My lovely & extremely talented [livejournal.com profile] xanthe has just published her first OC novel!

It's called 'Ricochet' & is set in the BDSM universe that she first created in 'General & Doctor Sheppard'.
I've been lucky enough to beta the story & it's amazing - everything that you'd expect from an epic Xanthe tale, with drama, romance, angst & humour (& hot, hot, HOT sex! *g*)

I really can't rec this story too highly - it's a fabulous read!

All the info about where you can find it is here & also here (at Xanthe's OC novel website.)

*cough*
I also made the cover, so if you fancy checking that out (& then staying to buy the book *g*) then please do!

bluespirit: (SGA Rodney - that's it)
Oh, wow...
I've just finished watching the BBC's adaptation of 'The Hollow Crown' & I'm completely blown away. It was absolutely spectacular!

The wealth of acting talent was incredible - oh, Patrick Stewart as John of Gaunt! I love you - & Simon Russell Beale's Falstaff!  But the absolute star for me was Tom Hiddleston as Prince Hal/Henry V.  I was literally on the edge of my seat, his performance was so electrifying.  It's funny - I'm not a Loki girl at all, but he was just mesmerising... oh, yeah - I can definitely see it now. ;)

And a quick thank you to [livejournal.com profile] hilde for my cute bear hug!
*hugs*
Thanks for thinking of me. ♥

bluespirit: (John Barrowman Zaza)

I checked this out because I saw that John Barrowman was the guest star:

Watson & Oliver (BBC - Monday evenings) or here on iPlayer.

JB is absolutely hilarious - totally sending himself up - & the two girls (with all their various funny characters) are really good.  It's a little bit hit & miss - as most sketch shows are - but there's definitely more hit than miss, for me.  *g*
I'll be watching the next ep & hoping they can maintain the quality. :)

If you only want to see JB being completely awesome *g* then check out time stamps 14:50 & 24:04 (song).

ETA:

Just found this cute behind the scenes vid (on youtube) of JB filming his guest spot. :)

And here's the song on youtube - for anyone who can't view iPlayer.

If you're currently snowed in - or just feel like settling down with a good book - then do check out Sarah Madison's original character m/m romances over at Dreamspinner Press.

Oh, & it looks like there's a sale right now, too! Yay!

ETA:
It looks like the sale (20% off) is for this weekend only, so do hurry over & snag a bargain! :)

I spent most of the morning at the dentist & am now very, very sore but in possession of a new crown & a filling. On opposite sides, of course, so I can't really chew anywhere & it hurts all over. :(
Never mind, Mr B & I started our Christmas rewatch of the LotR trilogy (the extended eds) last night, so now I'm looking forward to settling down later for The Two Towers (my favourite of the three.) \o/

Also, posting is almost over at [livejournal.com profile] h5o_art_santa & [livejournal.com profile] sga_art_santa & there's so much beautiful artwork to enjoy. I'd like to rec the gifts that I received because they're both beautiful:

+ A Festive Collection for Five-O with a couple of very cute & funny pieces & also a very suave looking 'prezzie' under the tree. *g*

+ Elf Angel for SGA. OMG! It's elf!John & angel!Rodney & it's the cutest, most adorable thing I've ever seen. I love it! ♥

And if you're into Suits - or not (I've never seen an ep) then my sweet & lovely [livejournal.com profile] xanthelj has written a gorgeous feel-good, Christmas-y fic, 'The Christmas Tree' - with a cameo by certain decorations from our tree! Hee!

I hope everyone is well & happy.

Is anyone else watching Monty Halls' Great Escape on BBC2 on a Sunday evening?
It's absolutely captivating. He & his dog, Reuben (the cutest black Lab cross who is a total show stealer! ♥) are converting on old croft on the Scottish coast & living there for six months.
He's a very genial bloke plus he clearly loves his dog. (Reuben was a rescue & is soooo excited about everything he encounters! His first experience of snow is hilarious! *g*)
It really is lovely, heart-warming viewing.
The first ep is available on iPlayer here. (Sorry - I don't know if that works outside the UK or not.)

~

Oh, & that smooth-talking [livejournal.com profile] the_cephalopod has worked her cunning magic. I am going to sign up to write for this year's [livejournal.com profile] sgabigbang! *g*
