I'm hosting a tea party, 'Paws for Tea', in a few weeks in aid of The Blue Cross animal charity.
I've got some cookie cutters (including one that's dog shaped - naturally! *g*) but the only problem is - I don't have a recipe to use to make cookies that I can cut out! LOL
Does anyone have a rec please? :)

And in super exciting news - the fabulously talented & just all around fabulous [personal profile] sgamadison  has released her latest novel!

The Boys of Summer

(Just click on the link for all the info.)

I've just bought my copy & am so looking forward to settling down for a nice, long read!

Thank you so much for the kind words and the signal boost! :-)

I have this Awesome recipe for sour cream cookies that you roll out--you're looking for something like that, right? I'll have to see if I can lay my hands on it!

And pull up a chair at the party for me to be there virtually. :-)

Well, knowing the original story, I know I'm going to love it! And want everyone else to love it too! \o/

Oooh, sour cream cookies sound awesome. (But please don't go to any trouble - I know how busy you are! Just if you happen to have it to hand.)
Btw - don't know if you noticed but I mentioned that the choc chip cookie recipe I posted about the other day can also be used with GF flour. :)

Yep - you're definitely going to be there in spirit. :D

These gingerbread cookies work well with cutters and are pretty much fail-proof. Just combine all the ingredients (I usually double the amounts on all the spices, but not everyone likes extra-strong gingerbread!), chill for about an hour (to make the dough easier to roll out), then bake at 350F for about 8 minutes (keep an eye on them). They're fine on their own, or you can decorate them after they cool with a hard icing (or candies glued on with icing).

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 egg
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp cloves

Mmmm, these sound yummy! Thank you.
I don't think molasses is that common here, but I'll have a look for some. :)

It should work if you use the darkest treacle you can find.

Yay! These look perfect! Thank you. :)
Plus, it's Nigella so you know they'll be good.
I have my dog cutter plus some hearts, etc & wanted to make something fun for the children. Okay - & for me! *g*

Oooh, I love the sound of the raspberry & chocolate (I'm a huge fan of raspberries) but I'm not too keen on meringue. :( It looks so pretty though!

I'm not that fond of meringue either, but this wasn't sweet. (but now I know not to make a pavlova if you come visit in the summer...LOL)

Good luck! I'd love to make a donation (since it's just a teeny bit too far to travel). Do you have a link? :)

Oh, I'd love to make it over there one day. ♥

Thanks so much, Hilde. I don't have a specific fundraising page, but you can always donate to The Blue Cross at their website, if you'd like to.
*hugs*

Here I'm :) My recipe is a very simple one.

Linzer

Ingredients:
1/2 kg plain flour
1/4 kg margarine or butter but not salted
1/5 kg sugar
1 egg
1 baking powder (apr. 12 g)
pinch of salt
sour or clotted cream.

Knead them with the sour cream, use approx. 1-1,75 dl, but the material could be waxy (I hope it's the right term) not too hard or too malleable. Cut them out and bake them in a preheat oven (with 220 C).
I sometimes make these: Linzerkarika (http://mindmegette.hu/lapokkepek/receptgaleriak/12000/12660_linzerkarika-egyszeruen.jpg)
I glue together two pieces with jam :)
If you put the cookies in a cookie box with a slice of apple they will be perfect the next day :)
