Christmas Day was awesome - we got Dr Who (short reaction: LOVED it!) plus a prequel for new Sherlock! \o/
There was much rejoicing & squee in The House of Bud!

Wow - the opening ceremony was amazing!
What a spectacle - but with such lovely touches of humour. I loved that the Queen did the James Bond skit - apparently they'd said they could use a double but she was totally on board & keen for her first acting role! (Though they did use a double for the parachute bit. LOL)

And Rowan Atkinson! Hee! Mr Bean at the Olympics. *g*

I got quite teary when Sir Chris Hoy lead out Team GB to Bowie's 'Heroes' & a ticker tape deluge. What a spirit-soaring moment.

I think the whole event was spectacular & a wonderful welcome to London 2012.

Let the games begin! \o/

My lovely xanthe came to stay for the weekend, & we had a really wonderful time with all the usual chatting, laughing, shopping & eating of cake! Huzzah!
I'm going to a wedding soon, & she was invaluable as my personal shopper helping me to choose a really gorgeous dress & co-ordinating shrug (plus a few other nice things for other occasions).  I'm really thrilled with everything! \o/

We also met up with my sweet lantean_drift & a couple of other lovely friends for lunch & more chat!  I'm actually a little hoarse today. LOL

Oh, & lantean_drift linked me to a very cute X-Men First Class song vid that I thought I'd share here, too. (Hence the icon. *g*)

HMS Ocean has been on deployment for seven & a half months, including being involved in Operation Ellamy.
Now they're coming home for Christmas...
