I love this for two reasons. Firstly, the whole 'Me me - you you.' exchange is just so them! *g*
Secondly, for the fact that of course there are no girls in John's dreams - just Rodney. ♥

I don't know if I'll be able to break through my creative block enough to produce anything worthy, but I'm going to try!

So, I was up at 2am this morning having failed at getting to sleep & was online shopping on Amazon - buying earmuffs, as you do - when I got an email about some kudos on a story that I couldn't actually remember writing from the title.
So I followed the link & re-read it.  I have the usual British reticence about saying anything good about myself, but I actually thought it was pretty good.  I haven't been able to write anything in so long & it was really nice to remind myself what I used to be able to do.

I have a story that I've been working on on & off this year.  It's only short - a companion piece to my vampire!Rodney story.  If I can polish it up in time, I'll try & post it as a little Christmas offering.

And in a festive frame of mind, I've been doing lots of baking (as usual!) & wanted to rec this gorgeous & easy recipe for mince pies from The Great British Bake-Off's Paul Hollywood:

I also added a splash of brandy to the mincemeat as well as apple & satsuma. ;)

So, sadly John & Rodney didn't make it through to the next round of the Ultimate Slash Madness Tourney at AfterElton.

They (& David Hewlett!) did get a very nice mention though:

Destiel dominated in the early voting rounds and seemed like they would cruise to the finals, but in Round Three, underdog McShep from Stargate Atlantis made it a real horse race thanks in part to actor David Hewlett lobbying on Twitter! Well done, sir!

I know it's a tough choice but John & Rodney are lagging behind Dean & Cas in AfterElton's big slashy pairings poll & need our support.

I've had several AO3 kudos plus an actual, honest to goodness, words in a sentence comment on LJ for 'Mile marker thirty-six' in the last 24 hours.
I wonder if it's been mentioned somewhere?

I wrote this story quite a few years ago, but it's so nice to know people are still enjoying it.
I do love thinking of the boys being happy in their Montana getaway. ♥
