It's been a busy week so far, what with the launch of the Five-O Art Fiesta & the SGA Art Shindig! If you haven't checked them out yet, please do, there's already some gorgeous art & the fests continue all week. Things in fandom can get a little quiet (understandably) during the summer, & so it's lovely to have all this new work to enjoy. ♥

And carrying on the 5-0 theme - filming began on s2 yesterday. \o/
I don't usually enjoy watching interviews (I have a low embarrassment threshold & some interviewers say such lame things, making the actors look so uncomfortable that I just end up squirming!) but I did watch this one with Alex. (He's one actor who's always so watchable, even if there are dorky questions or anything, because he's just so adorable & charming!)
Anyway - nothing made me squirm, Alex is beyond cute & just, just... ♥!

This is from the latest issue of Men's Fitness, & he's on the cover, too. (I know what I'll be buying as soon as we land in the US next month. *g*)

I loved this bit:
'But the actor has also discovered that island living has its perks. For one thing, he’s finally taken up surfing – a sport he tried when he was 18 but quit after getting caught in a steep, fast break. But this year, he conquered that fear and now frequents the beaches of Diamond Head, Tongs, and Velzyland on the North Shore. “Surfing is my great passion in Hawaii,” he says. “I have a bunch of boards – all of which I ride badly.”

His co-star, Scott Caan, who plays Danny “Danno” Williams on the series, reports otherwise. A longtime surfer, he says that O’Loughlin is progressing “on a very advanced level.” Of course, there’s nothing like sports to bring out competition among cast mates. “Scotty is a machine,” says O’Loughlin. “I’ll never be as good as him. And I’ll never match his jiu-jitsu, either. But if we’re in a ring together – fists and stand-up fighting – I’d lick him standing up.”

Caan laughs when he hears this. “We have a great respect for each other,” he says. “We are completely comfortable working together and going for each other’s throats without worrying that we’ve crossed a line. Alex is a natural leader. He takes control and makes things happen on-set – and in his personal life too. He’s The General, and I think that comes across in this role.”'

It's been a while since I posted a story, & I actually had to stop & think about how to do it! (Or maybe I'm just a little spaced out on pain meds. Though probably not - it's only over the counter stuff & not that good. Maybe I'm spaced on the pain itself. *g*)

I know he's shaved his hair pretty close, but the first thing I actually noticed was that he's wearing Skins! I blame the runner in me. *g*

It's a little on the short side for my tastes, but I love that we can see the grey here, too!

Okay, so not just a calf obsession. :)

While on the subject of The O'Lough. I was thinking (o-oh! *g*) Steve hasn't taken his shirt off in an ep for a while now (boo!) & I wondered if it was maybe because Alex had been having that new back tat inked & it wouldn't be good to try & hide it with make up while the skin was healing?
I did also wonder if they might decide to show that tat next season (& not cover it up or try & shoot from the front, etc) now that it looks a little more in keeping with the islands? (I don't know anything about tattoos, but this new one looks sort of Pacific Island culture inspired perhaps & so Steve might feasibly have something like that?)

Just a thought (& another excuse to ogle.) :)

Okay, before I lose myself in a daze of O'Lough induced squee & meltiness (if that's not a word, it should be *g*) I've also been thinking about Scotty Caan. Yeah, surprise, huh?
In particular, that very impressive 'run & jump & slide over the car' scene from this week's ep. Thanks to the lovely gyri & her investigative youtube skills, I now know that it was actually Scotty himself doing that stunt & not a stunt guy! How cool is that?

I love how he doesn't even look out of breath afterwards (& the little high-five with the crew girl. *g*)

So, um, yeah. That's what I've been thinking about. *g*

Three Rivers was the short lived medical drama that The O'Lough made in 2009. Unfortunately (or fortunately, as then Alex went on to make 5-O! \o/) it was cancelled & so there is only the first season (13 eps.)
I'm uploading them to share the loveliness of The O'Lough as Dr. Andy Yablonski (cardio-thoracic surgeon & all around gorgeous, sweet & kind-hearted good guy.)
I don't even like/watch medical dramas, but I pretty much mainlined all the eps over the span of a couple of evenings. *g*
It's undemanding, non-threatening viewing with nearly every story having a happy ending.
Plus it has Alex. Nuff said.
