Please feel free to skip this if you've heard
enough already about my running & my injuries! *g*
On a positive note, I saw the physio on Monday. It was a different physio & frankly the new set of exercises she's given me are much better. They seem to be much more focussed on targetting the weaker VMO in my right leg. She also gave me some stretches to help with my shin splints. I did find that the pain wore off a little more quickly during my run today, & so I'm hoping that it will get better as I'm diligently doing the stretches.
However, on a less cheery note, I saw the consultant last night, & he doesn't think that physio alone is going to realign my patella. He wants to operate on my knee in the early part of May - after I've run London, of course. After carefully considering all of the pros & cons, I have to agree with him, & so we're moving ahead with that. I should know the op date next week.
I'll only be a day case - it's keyhole surgery - but I will need a general aneasthetic. I have to admit that I'm slightly nervous - a general always carries a risk plus they reckon you have no control over what you say when you're coming out of it. I can vaguely remember telling the post-op care staff after my hysterectomy all about some film we'd just been to see! My biggest fear is that I'll start babbling about slash! *g*
So, that's the state of play so far. Hopefully the surgery will correct the problem with my knee & by sticking to the exercises I'll be able to keep it that way once it's all healed up.
*fingers crossed*

25 days?! OMG!
