The state of me 1: creativity

My Hewligan fic - 'Lionel's story' - is done bar some more editing, & the latest draft is currently being audienced by the lovely vida_boheme & the_cephalopod.
The final draft deadline isn't until June, & so I feel well set for that.
I'm also signed up as an artist & will be working on that over the next couple of months.

I have, unfortunately, had to drop out of this challenge. :-(
I found that I just couldn't switch straight from finishing the first draft of 'Lionel's story' to writing my AU story idea. I think I need time for my brain to chill out & relax a little before tackling another long story. Also, the marathon training is taking up so much of my time (& energy) that I feel so drained. However...

The sign-ups are opening soon for the Atlantis BB, & I think I'm going to expand on my original AU idea & write it for that as the completion deadline isn't until July/August.
I really love the story & will definitely write it! *g*

In the meantime, I'm recharging my creative batteries & doing some art work & generally enjoying squeeing over the boys. ♥

Oh, & of course...

The David Hewlett Birthday Charity Auction:
I'll be writing my story in aid of 'Doctors without Borders' once the auction is over, & I can confer with whoever 'wins' me! *g*

The state of me 2: running

I've been running for nearly 8 years & have never had shin splints. So... now I have shin splints.
*sigh*
The pain is pretty bad for the first 2-3 miles & then it just disappears. After Wed's training run I've decided to cancel my other scheduled runs for this week & to cross-train on the bike instead. I'm also doing some stretching/strengthening exercises to try & help. My physio had to cancel on Tuesday, but I'm seeing her on Monday & so I'll get her advice then.

Injury tally so far:

1 maltracking patella
2 shin splints
1 black toenail (though I expect at least another couple!)
3 blisters

However... running past Buckingham Palace & down The Mall after 26.2 miles & crossing that finish line will make it all worthwhile! *g*
