We went to Llangollen (Wales) for the day last week & did a very nice circular walk along the canal towpath & then up to the 12th century ruined castle - Dinas Bran - that sits above the town & the Dee Valley.
The very small structure at the top of the hill in this pic is where we climbed! LOL
It was pretty steep in places & involved taking footpaths across fields & climbing over stiles that, unfortunately, had no squeeze-space for Bud, so Mr B had to lift him over! Thank goodness it was a gorgeous, sunny day or Mr B would've ended up covered in mud!

The castle is a complete ruin...

We sat down on the grass of what had been the keep & ate our picnic. Bud enjoyed some treats & lots of water! (We'd purposely carried extra & had made stops along the way for him to drink as it was unseasonably warm & sunny.)

Our view as we enjoyed our lunch...

Bud chillin' with his dad...

...and then off to explore! My two boys. ♥

That's Lllangollen down in the valley - our starting & ending point for the walk.
It was a really lovely day. :)
Bud snoozed the entire journey home - seems that being a fearless explorer can really take it out of a chap! ♥
