bluespirit: (5-O Steve & Danny sitting)

I haven't been around much lately (on-going health issues that no one wants to hear about!) but I woke up today feeling a lot brighter & am making the most of it while it lasts.

So, things that have made me happy lately:

+ This awesome & hilarious song vid by [livejournal.com profile] elandrialore: Me, You and Steve

It's just so 'Yes! That's totally what's going on!'. *g* I love it.

+ And then this awesome & hilarious song vid by [livejournal.com profile] drkquail: Carpe Diem

Again - so exactly what's going on. ;)

+ The lovely & wonderful [livejournal.com profile] xanthelj sent me flowers. They're pale pink tulips & absolutely gorgeous. They also came with a fabulous & funny 'Steve & Danny Get Hitched' card from Moonpig! ♥ It lifted my whole day.

+ News that my TV girlfriend (Tricia Helfer) is in a film with Scott - & it looks amazing!

+ This very cool interview with JFlan. Smart is so sexy! Rowr! And that dry wit, too. Mmmm... ♥

+ And last (though very, very not least *g*) THIS!

Just... just... I have no words...

He does seem to have made quite a few smaller indie type films over the years.. I've really enjoyed a couple that he's written &/or directed as well as starring in, too. He is so talented. ♥

Yes, I agree he has made some smaller indie movies. I have several of his movies and Alex only made a few. But I do have Mercy which to me was so brilliant, I loved it. His writing, acting having his own father play his pops.....did you see that one? What'da think? The Dog problem was good too. I also love some of the other movies he's been in and you can see in some of his characters snips of Danny in a few of them. Some are just fun to watch and he said himself , some of his characters are goofs..lol.....But it is a thrill to watch him work.
Alex, hard to get some of his movies thougth he started later in movies than Scott doing modeling and commercials, but the Back up Plan seemed to be the one that would have broken him out in to the movies if he didn't do 5-O , jmo. Ok, sorry off track a bit here but I love them both.... ;)

I love Mercy! I thought it was going to be your standard thing but then the twist just broke my heart.
The Dog Problem was weird & funny but I enjoyed it, too. *g*
I've just watched him as the sub captain in 'In Enemy Hands' & that was a different sort of role for him - a little more 'contained'. Basically, I'm happy to watch him in anything (although I only managed 15 mins of 'Ready to Rumble' because that was just too silly for me! LOL)

Have you see Alex in 'Oyster Farmer'? That is my #1 favourite of everything he's done so far (except H5O!) It's a small Australian film (his first major role, I think) & I just adore it.

OMG I just watched 'In Enemy Hands " the other night too. And that was very different for him as characters go. I'm waiting on a few more of his movies. Love his zaniness in Varsity Blues he had me laughing. But I also had trouble watching "Ready to Rumble" I even tried with them narrating it..lol...but I had to turn it off as well. And Mercey was a very excellent movie IMO too. I thought too it would have been the regular ending but seeing her die in the elevator was so shocking. I should have known cause Scott is good her wrote a foreshadowing in the beginning when he met her. He must have gone for writing or something to do that. Showing how bad her asthma is and her telling him too. How sad he just asked her to marry him.....And pops didnt' help but Scott and James on the same screen were wonderful and it warmed my heart. I love that they are so close..

Yes, I love Alex in Oyster farmer but really love him in "The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant" He plays a lead part and I like true event stories and some period pieces but I that is my favorite , besides Black up Plan. But Oyster Farmer I love that one too and that he was still using the spelling of his real name O'lachlan and then later changed it to spell like his Grandad's, dodn't know why they were different to begin with, unless O'lachlan is Aussie and O'loughlin is more Irish since he has Irish and Scottish in him?

Oh, do let me know what you think of it. I must admit that I read the blurb & it didn't quite sound my kind of thing (though I was torn because, you know, Scott! *g*)
He really is incredibly talented - writing, acting, directing, etc.

I will let you know for sure. I probably will not watch it until later this week.
Did you see Speed Of Life? I can't remember if you said yes or not. That was so realistic of someone going through what he was taking care of his father and trying to hold it together only to go off the rails. I don't want to say more in case you want to see it or haven't whatever. But it was a bit slow but most real to life ones are but the content was very good and he did a brilliant job with showing so much emotions towards his father and taking care of him, remembering when his dad and mom took care of him when he was young....just really good I think anyway.
Ok will let you know. Don't have a pm address and I still can't figure out how to friend people they send me a pm with the friend add on the bottom and we do both of us..lol...I told you I am bad at this. But if not I will write you about the movie on this thread since we have gone all over the place with it..lol.....

Here you go and you go to used not new they are just as good but cheaper too. there are other movies and I also went from here and typed in Alex to get moonlight and a few other movies.
Hope you find it but it is addicting. Some movies are cheaper than the shipping..lol....I got a lot of Scott's movies and some of Alex's stuff. Waiting on Three Rivers to come in but there are only 13 episodes on that one. Here is the link up. Oh you have to make an amazon account if you don't have one already. I did Ebay for other things and find this is cheaper and better.

Oh you are so welcome. Pm me and let me know how you make out with Amazon and the movies. Also would love to talk about the movies too. I've enjoyed our little chats. If you want could you friend me and I will friend you back. I don't know if it's because my LJ is from 2003 and I did to some upgrading or what but I can not find adding a friend , only adding a friend not on LJ....I have tried everything and my account isn't a paid account it was a gift from a friend who had another account that was free. So I kept it and I can't afford it now still being on disability these days. Thanks and it's up to you I will not be offended. But I would love to talk about the movies and how you made out.

Thanks so much for friending me. Let me know how the amazon goes and what movies you order so I can see if I have seen them. Then after you watch them we can talk about them. I have watched many of Scotts and only a few of Alex since like I said Scott has so much more. But I don't have anyone to talk to them about..lol Thanks again and I friended you back

I really enjoyed Varsity Blues - he was such a little devil in that! *g* I've also seen Gone in Sixty Seconds, which is the usual car-chase action flick but Scott has some good screen time as an expert wheel man. I liked the fact that Turk's speciality in the Ocean's films was wheel man, too. Perhaps Scott is a demon racer? *g*

Yeah, with Mercy I assumed she'd left him (so confirming his original mistrust of relationships & falling in love) & then it was just so achingly sad when it was revealed that she'd died. Scott was so believable in his grief.

Oh, I have Mary Bryant already to watch just haven't got around to it yet. \0/ The same for The Backup Plan (though I have a very low embarrassment threshold & am worried the latter might be too squirm-making for me! *g*)
Yes, I read that Alex had changed the spelling to honour his grandpa. Not sure where the O'Lachlan spelling derives.

Here's a screen cap of a beautiful Scotty Caan in bed and I cut out Mercey from it..lol...just learning how to do this.
I agree with Scott's grief he acted that so well the letting him self go no interest in anything and the girl they set him up with the one he later on takes out after he has healed. I felt so bad when he ran from her but understandable. And then you see the turn around when he shaves.....he did a great job with that and it was better than The Dog Problem I think too. I fell in love with the movie.
Varsity Blues he was wild and I love it. I had to laugh so hard when he had the cop car and the naked girls and he wore nothing but a hat in front of him..lol...great and the Ocean's love them too.

Sorry about the misspells I type and sometimes forget to check.
But I still wonder why if Alex's Grandpa spelled the name a different way how his son spelt it the other way and gave it to Alex like that. Maybe due to being a teacher or something. But the way he changed it does show his Irish and Scottish roots too.

Oh try the movies it's not that bad there may be a few spots you get embarassed but it's over quickly and some hot spots.....I just don't under stand why his tats are covered, the ones over his breast and the one on his lower back?

I love the Ocean's Trilogy - & the way that Scott seemed to get more screen time as they went along! I always want to see more Scotty. :)

Yeah, The Dog Problem was a fun, quirky little film, whereas Mercy was much more serious. I really was so impressed by Mercy.

Okay - I'll give The Backup Plan a go then! *g*
Yeah, a shame they covered his tats - presumably 'Stan' wasn't a character they thought would have tats.

oh and do watch Mary Bryant I watched it twice I loved it so much and loved Alex's character too. He did a great job in that movie and he stars with the same guy from Oyster farmer, the guy that owns the farm he starts working for can't remember the characters name. But I noticed that Scott does the same thing he tends to work with some same people in some movies too.
Enjoy the back up plan. It's funny and Alex is so sweet and charming and when he gets nervous or mad it's so cute..lol......let me know how you like it. Like I said that would have been his break out movies but five -O came in. Let's hope he stays with five -O and if he wants a movie he will do it when the show is on Hiatas and hopefully Scott too. They both have to stay cause five-O wouldn't be with out those two and their dynamics..lol....

Yes, I've noticed that both Alex & Scott have starred with the same people several times. It's nice to think of them having that camaraderie. :)

Oh, I agree. As much as I love to see them in films, I like 5-O the best! ♥
