Dear old Roy Castle would be proud of me...
Dedication - I haz it. ;-)

Yes, I'm actually going to buy the novel of Danielle Steel's 'Family Album' so I can do more background research into Lionel for my [livejournal.com profile] smallfandom_bb story.
*face palm*

Dedicated or just slightly mad... hmmm, it's too close to call. ;-)

Damn you, Joe Flanigan - you & your gorgeousness & floppy hairness enticing me down this path!

*heads to Amazon*

ETA
How much?!
Blimey, I thought I'd be able to pick up a cheap copy as it's been out for so long.
*sigh*

Yeah, I did look there but the cheaper books are used. I don't have a problem with that in itself - it's just that if I'm going to buy a used book I like to see it first. Actually I like to sniff it. *g* I'm really sensitive to cigarette smoke & so can only have books from smoke-free homes.
I know - I'm such a princess. LOL

I'll keep looking though, thanks. :-)

eBay ones - if you find a good seller - will tell you smoke free, pet free, kid free home, only read once, etc. etc.

Adorable floppy haired Joe respects your dedication.

Also, try the library- ours are always full of Danielle Steele and you can keep them for three months!

Good idea! Our village library is being refurbished & so has been closed for the last few months. I can always try & pop to the next nearest one though.

I found a used copy for a penny + shipping at Amazon.com. I also found one for $2.50 + shipping. ($4 in the US)

The one direct from Amazon was $8.

If you like I can buy the new one and mail it to you?

No, I'm in the UK, but thanks so much for looking. That's such a kind offer.
*hugs*
I'll look a little closer to home to try & avoid the international postage.
Thanks again. :-)

This is just the sort of dedication to research I like to see. *nods firmly*

Dedicated or crazy person? It's such a fine line to tread... ;-)

You're talking to the person who routinely purchases books and DVD for research purposes. But I think reading Danielle Steele goes above and beyond the call of duty! But now you've got me curious myself...

Yeah, I feel like I need to buy it & ask for it in a plain, brown wrapper. ;-)

Lordy, yes! I think D would disown me if he caught me reading DS! (He who has picked up Tolstoy for a little light reading this week...)

C will no doubt just roll his eyes at my continuing insanity - he's kind of used to it after all these years. *g*

If you can wait for snail mail, I can probably pick up a used copy at Powells (six block walk at lunch time). Check them out at powellsbooks.com and let me know. (email is flyingdustmop at yahoo dot com)

Oh, that's so kind of you to offer thank you.

But hopefully I'll be able to find a copy more locally & avoid the international postage. Thanks again though - I really appreciate it. :-)

Yeah, I think I need to start trawling the 2nd hand book shops & charity stores & hopefully find a 'clean' used copy. :-)
I think I was just a little surprised that a new copy was still fairly expensive considering how long it's been out. Just trying to save a few pennies! *g*

I'm all for saving the pennies! I belong to paperbackswap.com and I am always scoping out 2nd hand stores. Although, the last book I bought 2nd hand was still only a few bucks off the publish price.

Yeah, I was surprised to see how expensive some used books were at eBay. For a Pound or two more I could buy a brand new copy.
