I should be so lucky...

I'm home!
Had a nice few days down in London with Mr Bluespirit, only slightly marred by the upset tummy that I've had on & off for two weeks & can't seem to shake.
We managed to get tickets to see the Kylie exhibition at the V&A. I was so glad as Mr B loves Kylie & he really enjoyed it - so did I. It was a really interesting & well put together exhibition & the clothes were so fabulous, especially the 'Showgirl' ones with all the crystals & feathered head dresses. Though I did get the feeling that I could pick Kylie up & put her in my pocket - wow but she must be tiny! The famous gold hotpants (supposedly bought for 50p!) were there & were minute. *g*
Mr B, being a total fanboy *g*, bought a big glossy book that accompanies the show & a few other bits... & I got a pair of pink 'Kylie' shoelaces! LOL
I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day. We had a wonderful meal at a little Italian round the corner from Covent Garden & Mr B bought me a beautiful Paua bracelet to go with some other Paua jewellery I have. ♥
Anyway, as nice as the break was, it was lovely to come home to Rascal. ♥
Oh, I started writing a little McShep fic on the train - I want to try & finish it this week. Though, I think I may need reading glasses. I keep getting a headache - even if I'm only on the PC for a few minutes. Must get my eyes tested as I haven't bothered since I had the laser surgery. I think I'll have to limit my PC time until then. :-( Maybe I'll just see if I can get a check up tomorrow!

Date: 18 Feb 2007 04:46 pm (UTC)I'd like to say I must have picked up the tummy bug from all that snogging DH & I did but... I actually didn't get within 30 feet of the gorgeous man! *g*

Date: 18 Feb 2007 04:48 pm (UTC)I had laser surgery about five years ago. The procedure was quick & fairly easy though I did have a bad reaction & was in some severe pain for a couple of days afterwards. However it was so worth it - I was quite short sighted & always wore contacts or glasses & it's so lovely to be free of them now. I'm just hoping my headaches are due to me needing glasses for reading - something that the surgery can't prevent unfortunately (oh, old age comes to us all! *g*)

Date: 19 Feb 2007 03:47 pm (UTC)Kylie rules in our drawing office - it seems there aren't any staff who don't (ahem) "appreciate" Kylie!!! I put an Orlando calendar up in the kitchen to counteract!!
Anyway, glad to read you both enjoyed the exhibition - and that it was a worthwhile event - and your Valentine's day (is Paua the 'seashell' sort of pink/blue colour? Or am I confusing it with something else? If so, I bet the bracelet is gorgeous!).
Hope you'll be feeling better very soon.
*hugs*

Date: 20 Feb 2007 12:31 pm (UTC)Yeah, Paua is a shell (I think - it looks shell-like to me! *g*) - it comes in various combinations of green/blue/purple/pink & is so beautiful. I have quite a bit of New Zealand jewellery & this is a favourite material.
