Sorry this is a bit late, but here's my completed Princess Buttercup dress that I made for my cousin's 40th birthday fancy dress party a couple of weeks ago.

It was an excellent learning experience & I'm pretty pleased, considering it's the first item of clothing that I've ever made! *g*
I also made Mr B's Dread Pirate Roberts costume. I bought an oversized black dress shirt & gathered the shoulders & cuffs & also added laces to the front. I then made his eye mask, bandana & cumberbund.

Here's the Dread Pirate Bud, too! *g*

We had a really great time at the party. It was lovely to see so many people in costume & getting into the spirit. There was a photo booth there, too, & everyone had a lot of fun with that. My feet were so sore from dancing all night, but that was a small price to pay for such a fab night! ;)

And this is your first sewing adventure? Wait, no, the dress was the first? They are fantastic.
I am delighted it was a good party, and I love the photos. Especially the second to last. Aww!
Thank you for sharing your creations with us!

Date: 22 Apr 2015 01:42 pm (UTC)Thank you so much - you're very kind. I started sewing last year - things like cushions & bags & a couple of aprons, etc but this was my first attempt at actual clothing (unless you count the tiny dress that I made for a toy bear that I made for a niece. *g*) I'm now attempting a 50s inspired sundress (hoping to catch this lovely weather before it disappears!)
It was a smashing party, thanks - so good to see everyone & have a good old dance & a laugh. :)
I hope you're doing okay. I've been a bit absent from LJ in the last couple of weeks.
*big hugs*
