Baking help please?

I'm really loving the baking that I'm doing.
I've just been concentrating on muffins so far but have plans to branch out into cupcakes this week *g*
The various recipes I've tried out have all turned out really well, but I have one common problem - storage after baking.
I'm finding that the muffins start to go a little soggy once I store them (the lovely crispy sugar topping sort of melts & the sponge goes gradually soggy.)
I've Googled for help & know that it's the moisture in the muffins being 'trapped' but I can't just leave them out in the air (well, not for long.)
Following online tips, I'm currently lining the storage cake tin with paper towels which has helped a little. I can, of course, warm the muffins up before eating but Mr B actually prefers his cold. (Mind you, he's happy to eat them even if they are a bit soggy!)
I do split the batch I've made & freeze some - but surely there must be a way to store the others for a couple of days without them going soggy?
Any ideas, my lovely flist?

And on a completely different note - a gorgeous Wincesty song vid rec!
