A few holiday memories...
3 Sep 2012 03:13 pmWe had a really fabulous holiday touring around Pennsylvania, Maryland & northern Virginia last month.
We did a lot of hiking - including a few stretches of The Appalachian Trail - & also visited several Civil War battlefields & sites - Gettysburg, Shippensburg, Chambersburg, Antietam, Manassas, Chancellorsville, Cedar Creek, Monocacy - as well as the wonderful National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg. To break up the Civil War theme *g* we also visited Bushy Run - a Pontiac War battlefield - & the National Museum of the Marine Corps (which was excellent.) Oh, & we dropped into Hershey's Chocolate World where the one ride we went on broke down & we had to be escorted off through the back stage area! LOL (We missed out on a free chocolate at the end of the ride, too. Boo!) We went to a baseball game in Erie (our first ever) - go, Seawolves, go! *\o/* - which was tremendous fun, especially as it was their annual 'Bark at the Park' & people could bring their dogs along! Yay!
Plus we sought out our usual collection of roadside Americana like the world's largest quarter & also visited a so-bad-it's-good 'Dinosaurland'! LOL
Anyhoo, here are just a few pics...
( holiday snaps )
And after all that - Happy Monday, folks!
*hugs*
