Coding question

I'm not sure what you call this, but you know you see posts (often sign-up posts for challenges, etc) where there's a box embedded in the post & it has coding in it?
How do you make one of those boxes please?
I want to make some challenge banners (with links to the comm) available for the art valentine challenges but don't know how to make the box thingy (heh, I'm so technical! *g*)


'Austin' is playing & now I want to read 'Atlantis'. Is it bad I want to read my own fic? *g*
