London Marathon
23 Apr 2010 12:15 pmOkay then - 2 days to go!
\o/
We're off to London very early tomorrow morning to get to the Expo to register, etc. Then we plan to take things easy & enjoy the day before a little carbo-loading (mmmm, pasta!) & (hopefully!) a good night's sleep.
We're at the blue start on Sunday & our race (for the masses) starts at 9.45am. It'll probably take about 10 mins to actually get to the start line & then away we go!
Initially - before my injury - Mr B & I had intended to run the race together. However, I'm running so much more slowly at the moment, so he's going to run the first few miles with me & then go & run his own race. I don't want to slow him down, & so this is the best plan (there are 36,000 runners plus thousands in the crowd so I don't think I'll be lonely. *g*) Also I'm so excited - & grateful - that
xanthelj &
flyingnorth are going to be cheering us on at various places around the course & then we'll all meet up at the end. Yay!
We're running in fluorescent yellow vests with our names on & the logos of our three charities (plus lots of paw prints! *g*) I'm also wearing my furry black Lab ears & tail that I modelled on Buddy, & I've pinned my cute John & Rodney 'Pegasus Heroes' badge that
vida_boheme made onto my belt so that I have all of my boys with me! *g*
Thank you so, so much to everyone who's supported us (& listened to my running-related rambling! *g*) - we really appreciate all your good wishes & encouragement.
*HUGS*
