bluespirit: (SGA Big Bang John)
I'm working on my Big Bang story (yay!!!) & have a couple of questions please.

1. So, I checked on Wikipedia & Superman's Fortress of Solitude is listed as being in the Arctic, but it also states that it has been located in other places, like the Antarctic, in more recent comics.
Is Rodney going to be a purist & say that it's in the Arctic or might he go for another location? It would work better for me if he said Antarctica but mainly 'cus that's a little nod to SGA canon. *g* I don't read comics & so don't know if this would seem like a major faux pas.

2. I'm writing John driving a kind of sporty SUV/jeep type thing - something he can throw all his surfing & skiing gear in the back & head off to the beach or into the mountains. Now, it's a bit clunky to write sporty SUV/jeep type thing & I don't want to actually use a specific model name. Is it okay to use the term 'jeep' in a generic, SUV type way or would that read weirdly to US readers please? Also, do people routinely use chains on their tyres in bad snow or is that just something that British people think Americans do? *g*

Thank you! :-)

EDIT:
You lot are so great - thank you! Questions answered. Yay!
*hugs*
