Bud

I noticed that Bud was walking a little differently - not an actual limp but he was differently throwing his weight away from his right front leg. I checked his paw & couldn't find anything & so took him to see the vet yesterday.
Jo, our usual & wonderful vet, has unfortunately left to set up her own practice (too far away to make it practical - & safe in the event of an emergency - for us to follow her there.) Luckily Bud & I saw a really lovely new vet called Bonnie - she was competent, thorough & very kind.
She's checked him over & couldn't find an obvious cause so she's put him on a course of anti-inflammatories for a soft tissue injury. If that doesn't clear the problem up then he'll go back for x-rays on his elbow, etc. In the meantime we've had to restrict his walking to just going into the garden - so no woods for us.
I really do hope it's just a muscle strain or something similar. Labs are so prone to joint problems & I hate the idea that he may not be as mobile as he has been. All three of us adore our walks so much.
So, it's fingers crossed that he feels better soon. Though in himself he is still the same daft, happy boy. ♥
