The Shakespeare Marathon 2008
28 Apr 2008 09:44 amI did it! I managed to complete the Half Marathon, even though my hip started to play up after about six miles & the right hip decided to join in too. So I just took it very gently & enjoyed the glorious scenery & camaraderie of the race & crowds.
I finished in 2:23 which is my slowest ever time for a half but I was just happy to finish!
I'm extremely proud to report that Mr B completed his first Full Marathon & I was so happy to be there cheering him over the finish line.
I no longer have my beautiful furry assistant to model my medal but here it is. (Mr B has taken his to work so I wasn't able to take a pic of them together.)

Thank you again to everyone who has supported & sponsored us. We really do appreciate it!
Adn thank you to
rifleman_s for the good luck card too!
*hugs to all*
I'm overjoyed to announce that we have achieved & exceeded our fundraising target for Cancer Research UK with over £500 donated so far (the website is open for donations for another few weeks).
I'm now going to rest my hip & let it heal before I pick up my training. :-)
