Just call me Ariel ;-)
5 Sep 2007 03:29 pmI don't seem to have had much chance to get online since we got home from our holiday.
I've been training pretty hard & that's taking up quite a bit of time. I've also just (this week) started swimming lessons. I was taught how to swim as a kid but have sort of forgotten & now just flail about doing a highly energy intensive-very little actual movement kind of stroke. *g* So, I decided to go & have proper lessons & learn the correct technique. I'm really enjoying it & this should be a really good cross-training activity for the days when I'm not running. The instructor was really pleased with my progress & is already talking about moving me up into the next level of class. I'm really chuffed, as I was so nervous about going.
Mr B & I have sent off our applications to run in the 2008 Flora London Marathon. There are huge numbers of people who apply & so there's probably not much chance - but we're keeping our fingers crossed. We want to run in aid of Cancer Research (in memory of my Dad) & so I'm also exploring other avenues to maybe get charity places. These ask for very large amounts to be raised though & so we'll have to see what happens. Keep your fingers crossed please, folks!

I was very touched to find that one of my stories had been nominated in the SG Fan Awards - thank you so much, kind nominating type person!
*hugs*
On another fandom note - I have a couple of art pieces that timed out from a zine over the summer & will post them in my fic & art lj as soon as I get chance.
~
I'm also sorting out all our many, *many* holiday pics (I won't post them all, I promise! *g*) & will do a post recapping our recent holiday. I honestly think it's the best holiday we've ever had.
