New fic (just a tiny one), new lj layout & Doom *g*

I've been finding it really hard to concentrate enough to write lately.
I'm sure a lot of it is linked with losing Dad (it has only been eight weeks, after all) & the way that I'm attempting to handle my grief.
I do have a long fic idea that's been mulling over in my brain for a few months but it has a fairly complex plot (as well as the hopefully hot loving *g*) & I know that I'm not in the right frame of mind to tackle such a large project right now. However, I was quite pleased to be waylaid by a teeny idea that turned itself into a drabble. Okay, 100 words may not be much - but it's a start. I do enjoy writing drabbles - every one of those 100 words has to count & I like sifting word choices & finding the rhythm - it's almost like poetry.

We finally watched 'Doom' last night. We'd got it on bargain dvd as I really wanted to see Karl. I thought it was pretty good as these video game/action films go.
It did make me remember just how gorgeous Karl is (even under the fake blood!)
So I had to dig out my fave pic.

It being the first of December, Rascal has opened the first window in his advent calendar too. Guess what? There was a doggy-choc paw print! *g*
