Rascal Update
20 Feb 2006 07:29 pmWe've just got back from the vet & she was very pleased with Rascal's weight gain - about 2-3 kg in the last 10 days. Though it was difficult to tell as he wouldn't keep all his paws on the scale & then kept sitting down & leaning against the wall giving a false reading! The scales are in the waiting room & it was such a palaver - we were all laughing in the end!
She said that he seems much better (he was flinging himself at her & fussing her constantly during the visit *g*) & that he's well enough for the operation. Though we do have to keep him on this special diet to keep his weight up. He's finished his antibiotics for now but he may have to go back on a longer course after the op if we get any weight decline again.
Anyway - he's scheduled to have the op on Thursday. She did say that he'll have a special anaesthetic that they use for older dogs so that he won't be out for so long & it isn't such a strain on his kidneys & liver.
If all goes well, he'll be home on Thursday evening. I'll only be completely happy once it's all done & he's okay, of course & with the danger of cancer gone but I'm feeling quite positive about my baby boy. ♥
