Race for Life ~ Cancer Research
5 Jun 2005 03:39 pmI didn't get much sleep last night as my scratchy throat has developed into a head cold.
However, I did manage to drag my sniffing self around the 5K course in aid of Cancer Research UK this morning! :-)
I did it in just under 33 minutes which wasn't too bad, I think, considering that I was under the weather & it was a really hilly course over uneven ground at a local nature reserve.
But I had C, my parents &
pirate_hussies cheering me on & I'm so glad that I did it!
I ran in memory of my beloved Nan, Rosie, who died seven years ago.
I should hopefully be raising over £100 for the charity!
Thank you to everyone here who has sponsored me. ♥
*hugs*
I ran wearing my Legolas vest & noticed that I seemed to be the only representative of Mirkwood taking part. (g)
Though I was considerably less fleet of foot than our beloved elf! LOL
My cold has now come out in full force this afternoon so I prescribe curling up with a nice cuppa & some good slash. :-)
