bluespiritI bought some gorgeous winter-themed fabrics when we were in Tennessee, & I've used some of it to make a pretty pleated-edge cushion for my mom.
There are two co-ordinated fabrics with birds & berries.
We don't get cardinals here in the UK, & I love to see them when we're on holiday.
The front of the cushion uses the main fabric, & the pleated edge & back use the co-ordinating design.

I bought some mixed festive buttons, too & used the pine cone ones here:

It's the first time that I've made pleats & I'm quite pleased with how they've turned out.

Date: 19 Oct 2014 08:54 am (UTC)Cardinals are so beautiful - I was so excited the first time that we saw one in the US (still am, to be honest, every time.) We have some wonderful birds here but nothing so colourful on a kind of 'everyday' bird - if you know what I mean. :)
