I've had a new sewing machine as an early birthday present!  \o/
I love it - it's so smooth (& quiet) & can do 5 different styles of button hole! I know, 5! LOL

I gave it a test drive this afternoon by making myself a pair of comfy lounge pants with some cute Thor fabric that I bought on holiday in the US (what can't you find in Walmart, eh? *g*)

I've been really enjoying my sewing over the last few months.  Here are some of the bits & bobs that I've made:

A throw cushion for my friend's birthday:

A hot water bottle cover for my Mom:

A bag for me:

An iPad case for Mr B:

I got the awesome fabric from Hancocks when we were on holiday. :)

Ferdy Fox for my Mom:

I only wish places like Jo-ann's Fabrics & Hancocks shipped to the UK!  We just don't have so many lovely fabrics to choose from here.

Btw - is anyone else having problems with their user icons?  When I answer a comment, only my default icon gets used - even when I've selected another.

Love the Thor fabric! *g*

Yes, *sighs* having the same problems that only the default icon is showing.

And I want my Thor icon.

Thanks, Jackie - you're so sweet.
I'm just teaching myself as I go, but I'm really enjoying it.

Interesting.
My default icon showed at first but when I edited it to Thor, Thor did show up.

THOR PANTS! YOU MADE THOR PANTS! WHY CAN'T I MAKE THOR PANTS? I'D LIVE IN MY THOR PANTS!

You are much more talented than I. I'm not good with sewing machines.

Yes, I'm having the same issues with my icons. *grumble*

Same thing here. When I choose my icon and post it jumps back to default and when I edit then I get the right icon. Weird!

Not knowing one end of a needle from the other, I'm hugely impressed. Is there no end to your talents?!!

The Thor pants are brilliant, and it must be wonderful to be able to give 'home made' gifts to people - they're so much more personal.

*goes back for another look*

OMG! It's so gorgeous! It's like a Star Trek sewing machine or something *g*. And the Thor pants are SO YOU! LOL!

I love all the things you've made but.. Ferdy Fox?!!! He's adorable! LOL! The throw cushion is particularly swish - very tasteful and lovely.

I have absolutely no idea why you made yourself a bag with dogs on it... ;-) ;-)

Nice stuff hon. Love the machine.

You should get someone in the states to buy what you need from Joanns and mail it to you.

As soon as I saw the fabric I knew that I wanted to make something & then I thought 'lounge pants'! *g*
I test drove them last night vegging in front of the TV & they worked a treat. *g*

Honestly, S I didn't know that I could sew - I only started this year! *g* It's another of those therapeutic things like baking that I'm just loving.

I know - it's 'computerised'! I'm just waiting for it to talk back to me now. ;)
I wore my Thor pants last night while watching the telly, & they've turned out to be nice & comfy. :)

Ferdy is cute, isn't he? Mom has always loved the spectacle of hunting (the clothes, etc - not the actual hunting part) & so I had to make this for her.

Yeah, a dog bag - what was I thinking?! *g*

Oh dear - I do hope the sewing machine isn't called Skynet and made by the Cyberdyne corporation!

Or called HAL... those pod bay doors don't open by themselves you know, Dave!

I love how inspired you are! And as long as your cyber-sewing machine doesn't take over the world, only good stuff can come of this! LOL!

I think if my machine does develop AI & become autonomous, it will probably just make nice crafty things like cushions & novelty-themed bags, etc. So, hopefully, it won't crush our bleached skeletons under its button-holer foot!

I love all of the various Avenger movies (ensemble & individuals) but I have such a soft spot for Thor.
