Cancer Research 10K race
I ran in the Cancer Research UK 10K event at Weston Park yesterday.
Last year my wonderful Dad had been there cheering me along - this time I ran in his memory & had his picture on my running vest. It's only been three weeks since our world became a dimmer place & so I did get a little teary as I ran the course. But I wanted to do it for my Dad & to help raise money so that hopefully one day no one else will be lost to this terrible disease.
Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored me & helped support this vital charity. This link goes to my fundraising page, if anyone did want to sponsor me online, thank you. ♥
And because it's tradition - here's a pic of Rascal modelling my medal.

Glad your run went well! Very cool, that you had dad's picture on your shirt--I'm sure he was cheering for you and that he's proud of you for running, even though it was sad.
I was so sorry to hear about your dad. *hugs you tight*

It's been a difficult few months - with Dad being ill & then his passing - but I wanted to try & raise some much needed money for such a good cause.

My best friend died of breast cancer at the age of 40, leaving a 9 and a 12 year old behind. Cancer is a HORRIBLE disease.

Under the circumstances, this was a magnificent effort.
My thoughts are with you.

I miss him so very much, every minute of the day but I can only hope that doing this will help a little towards saving someone else this heartache in the future.

It was a lovely morning - a little sad because Dad had been with us last year but also a celebration of him & his tremendous spirit & enthusiasm for life. ♥
Rask had a great time - though he did try to follow me as I ran past at the 5K mark! *g*

I think that's wonderful that you are trying to get more people involved in the fight against cancer. Your Dad will certainly be smiling down on you from heaven for it. *hugs*
