You know how when you haven't posted for a while, & it feels even more weird to actually post?
*face palm*
So, sorry - I am around & I'm okay. I just don't do much online anymore.

As a quick catch up - since my last post, I've had two new cancerous tumors, two surgeries & one round of radioactive iodine. Things are looking better now & I'm having bi-monthly ultrasounds to check for any other growths. Fingers crossed, things are clear so far.

In more pleasant news:

I've had a 'big birthday' (50!!) which I celebrated with a fancy dress party with my friends & family & had the Best. Time. Ever.

Buddy is an old, rather frail boy now, but he's plodding on & still enjoying life. He'll be 13 in January & is managing really well, despite his IBD & arthritis (which we're keeping under control with diet & medication.)

I've learnt to crochet & am now addicted to making amigurumi animals!

I've joined a local, amateur theatre company & am enjoying helping with wardrobe & front of house (not acting - you won't get me on stage!)

Here's my little old man enjoying a day at the beach a couple of weeks ago. ♥

I can hardly believe Buddy is 13! It seems like you just got the beautiful fellow.

I love crochet. I make afghans and scarves mainly, but it's very calming and productive.

I'm glad things are looking up healthwise and that you have so many exciting hobbies.

And it's good to see Buddy enjoying himself on the beach. Whenever I see an image of black Lab, I think of him :)

Hi -- I was just thinking about you yesterday while I was reading some of this years SGAreversebigbang and looking at the art. I was thinking, "Bluespiritstar really knows her SGA pics. I wish I had asked her to help me choose a Rodney and John pix for a project." And then, here you are. Yay!

The local theater company sounds super fun. Theater folks always have such energy, it's nice to be part of that.

I hope you show us some of your amigurumi sometime.

My cat and my son's dog are about the same age as Buddy. The cat probably has IBS and is going to the vet soon. Buddy looks great and contentedly happy.

It's lovely to hear from you. Caffy & I were just asking one another if we knew how you were and you pop up *g*

I'm sorry to hear things haven't been good for you. But I'm really pleased to hear things are now looking up. I hope they stay 'up'.

Yes, as Nakeisha said below, we were wondering how you were only yesterday (we speak daily on Twitter DM). And here you are with a LJ post, how strange. But lovely to hear from you.

Very sorry to hear you've had to have more surgeries but hope that's it now and you're on the mend. Super that you have new interests and are living life to the full. Crochet is such a theraputic thing, I used to knit endlessly but not in years sadly. Though I did see a knitting pattern I liked recently and bought it... I was in Hobbycraft in Bristol with my grand-daughter (now at uni). Such a tempting place.

I would never have thought that Buddy is 13! Gosh.

So nice to have an update! I was just thinking about you (and Buddy) the other day and wondering how you're doing. Sorry to hear you've had more health issues. Give the Budster a pet from me. I see so many cute amigurami figures on the internet, so I'm jealous you've learned to make them.

Sorry to hear about the tumors, but happy you have no new growths!

And I am tickled crazy to have a crochet buddy! Don't know if you're on facebook, but I have a page there called Sew Crochet Crazy where I exhibit (and try to sell) my creations. Haven't gotten into amigurumi yet.

Buddy looks great for an old guy. My boxer, Gracie, will be 10 this year. Diet and vitamins keep her going, but she's got a lot of grey now.
