bluespirit: (Supernatural ~ J2 Jared on Jen's shoulde)
Snagged from [personal profile] sgamadison :

This is an utterly fabulous song from a new, unsigned, gay country artist - Steve Grand. Who is also very easy on the eye. /shallowness

I just love this song & adore the vid - it's just like fanfic... except we'd give it a happy ending. Someone needs to write a fixit for this! LOL

I can completely see this as a J-squared story. Pining!Jensen finally acting on his feelings for oblivious!Jared. Jared's confused & pushes him away & Jen is heartbroken - cue major angst - but then when he goes back to the bonfire, Jared comes over, just smiles softly & kisses him! ♥♥♥♥♥
*flails with happiness*

You can download the song for free here - or donate something. I donated cus I'd love to hear more from this guy. What a talent.

ETA:
The object of his affections kind of reminds me of Scott Caan... yeah, I'm seeing this as a young!Steve&Danny in high school story, too.  :)

Well, the amazingly talented & awesome [livejournal.com profile] vida_boheme has made a fanmix to go with my Hewligan story! \o/

I'm absolutely bowled over by her kindness. I love, love, love it & can't stop playing it! It's perfect for the story & really catches the atmosphere of the era - 1987 - & Lionel's emotions as the story progresses. ♥

She's also very kindly said that I can share it here.

Lionel’s story
by
Bluespirit

Lionel Thayer is a young man on a journey. He’s learning about his place in the world and the person that he truly is. Most importantly of all, he’s learning what it’s like to fall in love - and how that love can give him the courage to stand up for what he believes.

A Soundtrack to Lionel’s Story - some story spoilers in soundtrack notes )

Download it here at Megaupload or here on my server (please do 'right-click & save' for this link.)

Please do tell [livejournal.com profile] vida_boheme how fantastic she is! Oh, & because she's doubly amazing - she's made a fanmix for [livejournal.com profile] sgamadison's Hewligan contribution to the Big Bang too! Woot! Check it out here. :)

In other Big Bang pimpage news - the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] neevebrody has made a post about her story too. It sounds so brilliant - I can't wait to read it!

You know, it's wonderful friends who make all of the negative side of fandom worth putting up with. ♥

Edited to clarify:
This fanmix is a spontaneous & beautiful gift from [livejournal.com profile] vida_boheme to help pimp the upcoming Big Bang. There will be art revealed for all the stories when everything goes live. Stories & art - woot! \o/

I came across a disc I haven't listened to in years - it was a favourite of me & my Dad when I still lived at home. (We only had it on tape then - it was pre-CD days!)
It's brought back so many memories listening to it & so I thought I'd share it here.

Mr B & I had a lovely day down in London yesterday & the Terracotta Army exhibition at the BM was amazing. They'd placed it in the Reading Room & it was beautifully presented. The actual terracotta soldiers & horses, etc were breath-taking. I can really recommend this exhibition. Oh & do pay the extra £3.50 for the audio tour - it's excellent.

~

Thank you to everyone who'd been helping me in my search for 'Clash of the Choirs' (especially [livejournal.com profile] tarlanx & [livejournal.com profile] liresius *hugs*.) I've got them! Yay!
We've watched the first three eps & now have the finale to watch this evening.
Oh, I do ♥ Blake Shelton so much.
That's him in my icon in case you don't know who the heck I'm talking about!
He's so funny & I must admit his humour is a welcome relief for me with some of the other more 'worthy' guest choir masters.
I think all the choirs are excellent.
Oh, & thanks to the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] thisisbone for keeping me updated before I was even able to watch it - & putting up with all my Blake Shelton squee! *g*

I'm honoured to say that Green Glass has been nominated in the [livejournal.com profile] mome_awards - which is lovely as I've just added more in this 'verse!
It's in the RPS Classics section under Sean Bean/Orlando Bloom Long Fiction here.

Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] foxrafer for organising these awards!

Please do try & leave feedback for any of the stories that you enjoy at this comm (or any other) - as a writer/artist I know how happy I am to hear what people think. And how depressing it can be when the comments are few & far between...

Born on Christmas Day by Brad Paisley
Please 'right-click & save'!

I like this because this is a song he wrote & performed when he was eleven or so & that's been blended in with him singing it now.

~

It was so cold & frosty when I went running this morning - I think my face froze! *g* It felt good to blow the cobwebs out though after being in the bustle of the city yesterday.

I've just sent my [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa story off to the mods. I had to stop tinkering with it!
I'm really pleased with how it's turned out (my betas have said it's the best thing that I've written in this fandom! Yikes! *blush*) I just hope the recipient enjoys it now.

Had some disappointing news - Mr B & I haven't managed to get places for the London Marathon. :-( It's a shame as I was really hoping we would & could run for Cancer Research. So I'm looking round for another marathon in the Spring. If all else fails we can enter the Shakespeare Marathon that I ran this year. It's a fun event, with excellent organisation - my only criticism is that it's a two lap course. I'd much prefer one 26.2 mile lap. Still - it'll be good either way, especially as Mr B will be running with me this time.

Here's another couple of festive songs.

Heh - we also got one from our favourite Indian restaurant too. Sign we're good customers. *g*

Finally got to watch The Seer last night.
Oh! Why didn't anyone tell me to stop everything & just make the time & watch it? I loved it so much. (Okay, I'm not exactly sure where I'd have made the extra time - but I'm sure I could've! *g*)
And then it's Miller's Crossing tonight (well, tomorrow for me!) There's been so much buzz about this ep that I can hardly wait.

~

Do read [livejournal.com profile] velocitygrass's 'A Galaxy Away' - it's only a little snippet of a fic but it's so sweet.Oh, boys! ♥

~

On a non-SGA note - yeah, I occasionally think of things other than John&Rodney (though not often, I admit!) - I just watched the vid for Brad Paisley's 'Online'. I love the song anyway & the vid is just so funny & with great guest stars (The Shat! The Shat!!!!)
I couldn't make it work at CMT.com but found it on youtube here (quality's not so great but it's watchable.)

~

If anyone's missed all the stuff about this new lj tagging thing for adult content - check out [livejournal.com profile] killabeez's excellent post about how to fix it so you can still get your pr0n!
