bluespirit: (Supernatural ~ Dean anim good morning)
[personal profile] bluespirit
Just a quickie (ooh, err! *g*)

+ I'm love, love, loving Spn!  Not that that's news really - but it's a new season & there's always that worry that it might not be as good. But. It totally is! \o/  Also, how can Jensen look even better than normal?  I mean, he has a newborn in the house & he's looking younger & more gorgeous than ever?

+  I had an Spn dream last night.  It was a proper plot with Dean & Sam.  Unfortunately, I can't remember any of it now - except that there was a part where Dean had to go & do something & Sam leaned in & kissed him goodbye.  Just a quick peck on the lips (though he also cupped Dean's cheek with his hand *melt*) - like it was something they do all the time! ♥

+ Other things I'm watching & really enjoying: Great British Bake-off, Agents of Shield, Person of Interest, The Blacklist, Castle, Perception, Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries, HIMYM, Big Bang Theory, By Any Means, Amazing Race, Sleepy Hollow.

+ Things I'm waiting to start airing here again: Bones, Criminal Minds, Elementary.

+ I've been soaking the fruit for our Christmas cake overnight (in brandy) & am ready to bake today.  In the immortal words of Mel & Sue - 'On your marks, get set - bake!'. :)

+ I'm running the SGA Art Santa again this year.  We've had a good number of folk sign up, & the assignments have been sent out.  Now it's just a matter of waiting for the lovely art to roll in.  Hopefully, we won't have the need for any pinch hitters & so far, there's only been one thing that's made me think 'why do I bother giving my time & energy to this, if people are going to act like that?'.  ;)

+ Depression-wise, things are okayish.  I'm attending CBT, which is hard, but I think is helping.

+ I've managed to pick up another cold, just as my previous one was clearing up.  Mind you, being soaked to the skin on the carrot walk with Bud yesterday probably didn't help.  Never mind - there's actually some sunshine today.  It's cold but the sun makes everything seem better. \o/

+  Bud is as gorgeous & adorable as ever.  Here he is cooling his paws in the River Teme last month, after we'd been walking on Offa's Dyke. ♥

Bud in the River teme

+  Happy Thursday, all!
*hugs*

What a brilliant tag: 'happy making'. And it is definitely happy making, because it really cheered me up to see this as the top post on my friends page! Particularly the idea of walking on Offa's Dyke and the picture of Bud.

Whatever is a 'carrot walk'?

All the best with CBT: I've known a couple of people get good results with that, one of them with depression or anxiety-related issues.

LOL The carrot walk is a route we take through fields where they grow carrots. Bud adores carrots & sometimes finds some to munch on - he thinks it's heaven. Hence we named it 'the carrot walk' (We also have a garlic walk & a meadow walk, not to mention many others! *g*)

The CBT seems to be going well, thanks. It's not easy but I'm hopeful. *fc*

The cake has turned out pretty well, I think. I'm 'feeding' it brandy every couple of weeks until it's time to ice it. :)

Yay, you!

The generosity of folks like you in running fests and the like are what keeps fandom going. Don't let entitled rude jerks get you down. Sadly, they're all over, so we must learn to ignore (or else completely crush & annihilate, depending on your philosophy) them.

Ooh! Cake! Show us photos when you're done?

Aww, thank you.
I went with the 'smile sweetly & ignore the rudeness'. *g*

I'll definitely take some pics once it's ready to be iced - some before & after! LOL

Buddy looks like he's spied something fowl in the water and he's at point :-) Sorry you've been sick--hope you feel better soon! ...I was all smug when I KNEW what Offa's Dyke was!! When my family visited a few years back, we went up behind Tintern Abbey and walked a short spell along the trail. It was Beautiful!!!

Isn't Offa's Dyke stunning? We only walked a small section, but I'd love to do the whole thing some day.

I think Bud was probably just being his usual nosy self! LOL

POI! Oh, I love Finch and Reese. And Carter and Fusco and Shaw. *grin* Glad you're enjoying the show too.

CBT: Oh, it's hard but it's worth it. I hope it helps you as much as it helped me.

Buddy! I can't believe that's the same sad, nervous, fat dog you rescued a few years ago. You've done amazing work with him. He looks so trim and confident. Care to rescue me too? ;)

(((hugs)))

Yeah, the CBT is a challenge but I'm enjoying it. I like that it's a group rather than solo therapy, too. It really helps to talk with other people who are going through similar experiences.

Heh - lots of long walks & plenty of carrots: The Buddy Diet Plan. *g*

I want to be just like Phryne when I grow up! (Um, okay - I'm older than she is now but a girl can dream! I'll settle for just having her wardrobe. *g*)

The CBT is tough but I think it's helping. I especially like that it's a group session - it really helps to talk to other people who are in the same sort of place emotionally/mentally/physically.

*big hugs for you*

That is one handsome dog! :D What is CBT? And if you soak your cake in brandy and bake it now, does it keep until Christmas??

Since Lyles Golden Syrup is now available in the US, I'm afraid I have no excuse not to attempt mince pies this Christmas. If you know of a good recipe...!!

I'm watching Castle and Agents of Shield, am waiting for Major Crimes to start back up again. They canceled Maxwell and King, which I was rather enjoying. :-( D stopped recording POI, so I'm going to catch up on the back seasons on Netflix when they become available. For some reason, I'm watching all the seasons of NUMB3ERS right now!

But the one I'm looking forward to the most right now is Almost Human! November can't come soon enough!

So good to seeing you posting again. *hugs*

Heh, we do think he's a bit special. *g* Not unlike that gorgeous Mr H! ♥

CBT is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - its a way of dealing with negative thought patterns & the behaviours they produce. I'm in a CBT depression group & am finding it really helpful. It's good to talk to other folk with similar issues, too.

Oh, yes - you can keep a rich fruit cake for months. I'm 'feeding' it with brandy every couple of weeks now until it's ready to ice just before Xmas. :)

I haven't tried mince pies yet, but I do plan to (of course - it wouldn't be Xmas without mince pies! *g*) I'll send you the recipe, if it turns out okay. :)

Oh, yes - Almost Human looks so good. *fc* We used to love Numb3rs - & it's so lovely to be able to just immerse yourself in episode after episode!

The posting hasn't been as regular as I'd like so far, but I'm hoping to get back to normal.
I hope everything's going well with you?
*hugs*

Thanks for the explanation of CBT--sounds very useful!

You feed the cake brandy?? I never knew that! I knew they kept a long time, but I didn't know how...

I'm counting on you for that mince pie recipe, as I don't have anyway of knowing what 'right' tastes like!

I do love being able to watch show after show in a row when I want. :-) I used to love getting my Closer DVDs so I could mainline them in a weekend. :D

Glad that things are getting better for you. They're 'same old-same old' around here. ;-)

Bud looks like he's having fun.

Glad you are feeling a little better hon. What is CBT? "HUGS"

Colds are hard to shake when you get one. Also since others are sick and they are out and about...I keep the hand sanitizer close at hand to keep from getting sick. It takes me like 5 months to shake a cold if I don't.

Jensen's my favorite too!
